The franchise obviously has a hold on the horror-loving crowd. I've read the novella and seen the first film.
trailer: Moria says the film "disappoints somewhat but is worthwhile." HorrorNews. As I brought in the smokeless cobs for the fire yesterday afternoon, I realised we'd pretty well run out – just one more day's worth. There was nothing for it but to turn around and go back a mile and a half to the Heritage Narrowboats marina. It's a great spot, one we'd noted in passing yesterday, and we're glad to have the opportunity of this view through the side-hatch. As it has turned out, retracing our steps to pick up the fuel will benefit us tomorrow, when we do intend to climb the hill, as we're much nearer to the start of the path. And yet, I absolutely loved the brooding Mr Rochester, Jane’s gradual growth, and the drama of the story’s setting. When I read it again as an adult, I was struck by the power of the language Brontë uses and the way it depicts Jane’s inner landscape. I've been seeing the best blood sugars I've had in years these past few months. But this time I'd been eating right for months and testing enough that I knew there were no hidden spikes going on. So I was looking forward to a pleasant surprise. Riet has had a terrible week. we spoke about natural approaches to prevent and treat swine flu. Overall natural remedies to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Walter Currie Jr. I don't know if you have been hearing about the terrible flooding in and around St Jean-sur-Richelieu in Quebec. The Richelieu river is at historically high levels. from the river. The army has been called in but they are concentrating more on infrastructure than houses. Today's Toronto Star had some sobering aerial photos. One of the Star photos is of Fort Lennox, which we visited with Marie-Emmanuelle and Patrick last fall when it was dry!And here's another news story from today. Please think good thoughts for my friends and all those affected by this terrible flooding. It has been going on for over two weeks now, constantly worsening, and everyone is exhausted. But, the result of watching more movies is that you encounter a surprising amount of crap. It's like reading lots of books. When I was young the movie was a weekly event. As a schoolboy, that meant Saturday afternoon watching Johnny Mack Brown oaters or Abbot & Costello farces at the theater down the street. A dime to get in, a dime for popcorn and maybe another nickel or dime for a candy bar during the second feature. Along the way, I saw On The Waterfront, Man With the Golden Arm, Spartacus and some great stuff as well.
Now that the weather is really getting good, I am starting to make a list of all the water-filled places I plan on visiting this summer. If you see me in the next few months, I plan on having a beer & book in my hands and my feet in the water. Only the most perfect footwear for this weekend! This is something that is quite new to us, as we have never really came out with shoes or sandals of our own before. With these two though, it just feels right. As women, which we are sure most will agree with us, there is no such thing as having too much shoes and so there is always room for some more in our shoe closet! We decided to go with the sliders and slip-ons because we feel like in this country with this weather, we can always use a pair of dressy sandals, that will not make us feel under-dressed and still has that stylish edge to it. From the archives:Aorta has an uncertain derivation. Given all the blood vessels that branch to the viscera from the aorta, one can see how it may resemble a strap of sorts suspending the heart, kidney, stomach, and intestines. Our Beloved Leaky, Reeky, Tiki IF YOU GO north on Hendrick’s Isle in Fort Lauderdale to where the sign says “Royal Retreat” and walk between the buildings toward the yachts moored in the canal, you’ll see the tiki hut beside the pool. That’s our town hall, our pub, our meeting place, our parliament. As parliaments go, it’s not terribly imposing, but it’s well situated. From the tiki it’s only a few steps to any of our five boats. Its open sides let in cooling breezes and its palm-frond roof keeps out most of Florida’s summer downpours. It leaks a bit and it reeks of suntan oil, but there’s a handy ledge all the way around at the right height to steady your hand so you don’t spill your beer while watching the ladies in the pool, and there’s room inside, at a pinch, for all eight of us. It’s also our carpentry shop and paint shop when Steve’s not looking. Steve manages the apartments. He has trouble with visiting cruisers. .
